Story
Much information is available about the short wheelbase FJ40 (BJ40) and of the long wheelbase FJ45 (BJ45) Toyota Land Cruisers. But there is very limited information on the Medium Wheel Base FJ43 (BJ43) model. The MWB FJ/BJ43 are 14 inches longer than standard 40 series, making for a better ride and cargo space.
This is a beautiful 1984 BJ43 (diesel), which is even rarer than the gasoline engine, less than 6,000 units where produce and this is a final model year manufactured the month production stopped. It will be if not the only one, one of a handful 1984 BJ43s to touch American soil. This particular truck has a very interesting story, it was imported to Colombia as a donation to the Catholic church and used for missionary expeditions across the country. In 2013 it was sold to the previous owner from whom we purchased it in January of 2015.
The BJ was in excellent condition, but there was normal wear and tear deterioration. It underwent a complete restoration that took over 4 months and 800 man hours. No expense was spared, truck is in “better than new” condition.
